Buying

Buying items

Firstly, of course, we encourage you to make another listing of your item. Perhaps the lucky bidder just missed out on spotting their new piece to take home! At the end of the day, we’re all here to create a new revenue stream for those who need it the most.

To re-list your item simply click on your dashboard in the top right corner of the landing page. Then click on Unsold Listings - third tab from the left. See below.

If this doesn’t work out, we want to supply you with all the information needed to continue your sustainability journey and correctly dispose of your items. We have done the research for you, so check out some of the organisations available by clicking here

charityBay does not take any liability for buying and selling through the platform as items sold and purchased on charityBay is on an 'as is' basis. We recommend you ask as many questions about the item before bidding. If you have received an item which is not to your standard, according to the listing information please direct all enquiries back to your seller.

Once the listed item has been auctioned and sold. The successful bidder will be required to make immediate payment to the donor and their nominated charity of beneficiary. Only when payment has been finalised will communication in the form of messaging be facilitated between the seller and the successful buyer.

  • Simply click on message donor (via the website, first image below) or message buyer (via the app, second image below).
  • The buyer now can communicate with the donor regarding pick up of item (via own arrangements).

We currently accept all major credit cards as well as Apple Pay on apple devices and google pay on google/android devices.

The reserve price is set by the donor when he/she is listing the item.

We recommend a reserve price of $0.99, however, the donor will have the option to set a higher reserve price for their item. The auction will still start at $0.99. In the event the reserve price is not met by the end of the auction period, the donor will have an opportunity to submit to the prospective buyer a final offer. From there, the buyer may choose to accept or decline the offer.

No. The reserve price is private to the donor and should not be shared with prospective buyers.
