The Apostleship Of The Sea

The Apostleship Of The Sea DGR

  • Size: Small
  • 31 Dec 1924
Summary

The Apostleship of the Sea has centres and chaplaincies in most major ports where chaplains and volunteers carry out work of the Apostleship. Chaplains visit ships that come into port and contact is made with officers and crew members of all faiths. Through access to internet and telephones, seafarers are helped to keep in touch with their families. From time to time, chaplains counsel officers and crew on loss of life on board and at home. Assistance may be provided with repatriation and sometimes with legal representation and liaison with maritime, government and non-government organisations.
