Christmas Day is around the corner, with 23 days left to go! We couldn't be happier to be feeling the Christmas joy with our series of Christmas Gala Events.
charityBay is excited to be hosting an online 'Christmas Gala' for SisterWorks, which will run from Thursday 10/12/20 - until Thursday 17/12/20. For this Christmas season, let's spread that same Christmas spirit and love to those who need it most, so tune in on Thursday on the 10th, to have a chance at bidding/winning some fabulous items. Here are some of the many unique item/experiences available for grab:
- Pilates Package 3 sessions (Victoria Only) - Pilates is great for the mind as well as the body and is an all in one work out focusing on stretching and strengthening the whole body. Berwick Pilates is located in the heart of Berwick. They have created a beautiful and inviting studio for you to come and have some time to practice some self-care. Specialising in reformer pilates, their classes are personal with only eight (8) reformers beds plus the instructor to ensure you are getting the best out of your workout.
- SisterWorks Food Hamper - SisterWorks Christmas hamper includes some exotic items such as - A Jilungin Bush Tea pack, from our partner Kakadu Plum Co. This beautiful and unique tea is not only 100% Australian but is 100% wild harvested by Indigenous Australians from The Kimberley in Western Australia. Jilungin Bush Tea has a herbal and earthy taste and has long been used for its calming and relaxation benefits. Also included is Hearts Dark Chocolate from the Mildura Chocolate Company. Mildura Chocolate Company is a branch of the Christie Centre, a not for profit Disability Support Organisation.
SisterWorks is a not-for-profit social enterprise, based in Melbourne. Their vision is "An Australia where all migrant women are given the opportunities to become economically empowered." They have two retail stores that sell the products that their Sisters hand make weekly. These include homeware, self-care, food, accessories, and clothing. All of these products are ethical and sustainable, with 50% of profits going back to the sisters.
To date, SisterWorks have supported more than 800 women from 56 different countries. To increase the number of migrant and refugee women empowered to access opportunities in the workforce, SisterWorks is starting to share its Model into other Victorian regions. New partners and Sisters are joining our SisterWorks Family throughout the state.
Over the next few weeks, charityBay will be hosting an online 'Christmas Gala' for selected charities. The event supports charities by auctioning off items on our platform, which then allows the buyer/bidder to bid for unique items, and then the funds generated, will go to that particular charity. Come along this Thursday to support SisterWorks, by bidding on an item that gives twice this Christmas.
