How did your journey start at charityBay?
"I was looking to expand my experience in working with different industries, the opportunity came along when I applied for the internship at charityBay. Since then, it has been an amazing experience working with the people behind charityBay, and networking with their connections. I have learned so much in the last 6 months and I cannot wait for what’s next. My role at charityBay is a Social Media Marketing Specialist, I work with a team where we handle all social media things. From content to writing, our roles are to grow our social media presence."
How does a day in life look for you at charityBay?
"Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we have meetings regarding our tasks and according to the planner, we also brainstorm new ideas for marketing and help each other come up with solutions or give advice. My days are usually planning the week's EDM and researching and writing the blogs we plan to release each month. I also handle the listings of items on charityBay, along with monitoring or answering enquiries. I also assist the team in writing captions, managing the social platforms and other ad-hoc tasks."
"charityBay has come up with an innovative way to convert unwanted items into funds that you can donate to charity. This means if you have things you don't need lying around, you can donate them with our app and get rid of them in an environmentally friendly way. It's also tax-deductible and you're also giving back to your community!"
Fun fact about yourself?
"You can find me at the gym most days of the week, I like to keep fit and I guess you can say I am a bit of a gym junkie."
What do you do in your spare time?
"A lot of things actually, it can go from reading to dirtbike riding, but more importantly, I spend it with family and friends."
What did you study at uni?
"I studied Commerce at Federation University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree."
What did you do in your previous jobs/couple of jobs?
"I have worked in a digital marketing agency, farming cooperatives, mail sorting, and I have been a management trainee."
If you were stuck on a desert island and you could choose one person from the charityBay team to come with you, who would you take and why?
"This is a hard question honestly, I think I would choose Haidar, our CEO. He is calm and collected, always analyzing the next strategies we are taking, and always has a solution. Though, I'm not sure how he would react to being deserted on an island with me."
We hope you have enjoyed 5 minutes with Ronaldo, stay tuned for more to find out our next "5 minutes with" employee.
