Javaria is highly passionate about making the world a better place, and together with charityBay, she aims to accomplish that goal.

1. Tell us a bit about your journey at charityBay.

I have grown up to this age while working in the field of marketing and advertising. Growing with diverse businesses has shown me the ropes on how best marketing practices are planned, directed, and implemented. As a marketer, I feel lucky to earn my profession's trust, admiration, and respect. Later moving to Australia, settling within a new community setup and finding my ideal job was quite challenging. In the process of job hunting, I came across this great organisation and started my journey with charityBay. charityBay reflects a strong brand voice and trustworthy personality that allows people to connect deeply and instantly with this organisation on an emotional level.

2. What does a day in the life of a marketing specialist for charityBay look like?

Every day is vibrant and brings a lot of positive energy. Working as a marketer can be quite demanding, but it is equally rewarding for people who enjoy using their creativity and, fortunately, the people I work with! It's an epic blend between a corporate setting and a small, connected community. It is usually a hot cup of coffee and a lot of positive ideas mapping through conversations on our marketing table. Team members hold many hidden talents up their artistic sleeves. There is a lot of open communication and coordination to gear up the projects and achieve great results.

We brainstorm, research, analyse, and experiment to see the efficacy of our work. The organisational support is phenomenal, and you never feel overwhelmed with the amount of work. So, after meeting, we all know by when and how we have to deliver. I love that I have a great degree of control and freedom within my job, but at the same time, I work hard to maintain that level of trust, which keeps me engaged and excited throughout the day.

3. Tell us what you love best about the work being done at charityBay.

I love its unique and innovative model to donate. The whole process is super easy, accessible, and transparent. The best part is that you don't always need cash to make donations and can simply do it by selling your unwanted items. Considering this, I must say what a remarkable role it is playing in limiting the environmental impact!

4. Any particular charity that you love and why?

It is hard to answer. I think every charity is close to my heart. We all wish to be treated with respect and dignity and to feel valued and listened to. In the spirit of charity, we would strive to do the same for others. Irrespective of the cause, giving - whether it’s a donation, a birthday present, or a dinner, should always feel natural. A little gesture can be meaningful to the receiver.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Long drive with some nice, upbeat music and having my favourite food. I enjoy doing some mindful or breathing exercises whenever I get some spare time. Painting is also something I do in my free time. Acrylics and watercolours are my favourite mediums. Parallel to this, technology is a passion of mine, and usually, at night, I browse and explore the latest trends and the new course technology is taking to work comprehensively.

6. What are some of your favourite things to do in Melbourne?

Oh, there are a lot of favourite things on the list. I love to explore eateries of different origins and try a wide assortment of food. Road trips from urban laneways to country roads and ocean-kissed highways are certainly my favourite thing to do within the city or in greater Melbourne. Not to forget, bicycling with my family in the shadows of magnificent trees and beautiful trails and beach walk till sunset is a joy to behold.

7. Any movie/show recommendations?

Yes, I would recommend,

- CNBC series Marketing. Media. Money.

- New girl

- F.R.I.E.N.D.S is my all-time favourite, so it's never off the recommendation list.

Also, if you are into podcasts, do give these a try,

- The Allusionist.

- 99% Invisible
